Van Helsing (Stephen Sommers 2004)

Charged by God and armed by a secret Vatican society, the mysterious Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is ordered to travel to Transylvania with his trusted sidekick Carl (David Wenham) in order to kill the vampire lord Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) and all his evil offspring and lift the curse on the last surviving member of the family that has hunted him for centuries, Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale).
This is the first film (or at least one of the few) to bring together the 3 big hitters of the horror monster universe - Vampire (specifically the mack daddy himself Dracula), the Werewolf and the Frankenstein Monster (Shuler Hensley). Opening with a black and white adaptation of the original Frankenstein film was a clever concept, and the idea of making the monster a goodie was a clever interpretation: at the end of The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) the monster was given an absolution and hinted at the idea that it is essentially good but lacked the time to develop as a good character.
Aside from that, there is not a lot of quality to this film. The plot has more holes than swiss cheese, and the acting is poor enough. Almost 90% of the film itself is computer generated and flashy (poorly thought out) stunts. There are lots of flashy gadgets that make no sense what-so-ever and all in all, this is the sort of film one would watch when they have some spare time and don't want anything clever in a story. One last note, there is a fairly obvious rip from the Blade films: if you are watching this film this is the only thing you should look out for.
