Hollywood's Unoriginality

In recent years there has been a great many debates about Hollywoods inability to produce any original films and is relying solely on remakes and sequels. Although some people may be able to argue that point, that was before the summer months of 2011, also known as the 'Summer of Sequels'. In the space of about three months, the audience was presented with sequels such as Transformers 3, The Hangover Part 2 and Harry Potter 7pt2, Remakes and Conan the Barbarian, adaptations such as Puss in boots and Captain America; First Avenger, and the occasional original film poking through like Cowboys and Aliens.
Now although some of the films were entertaining, it doesn't change the fact that they are just the same ideas and stories that have been seen before, but with a slightly different plot line (except for The Hangover Part 2 which is just the exact same film). The trouble is with remakes and sequels, there is already a huge fan base built up by the previous films and so lazy story writers can get away with relabelling an old film with lots of entertaining violence or a big letter 2 in the title. As such it is not likely that Hollywood will even try to come up with any more original ideas in the recent future: why be exciting and new when you can be repetitive and rich.
Then again the trouble is the most audience now a days will want to go and see sequels because they enjoyed watching the first story and want to see how it continues, so Hollywood doesn't need to worry about being original when the demand for more of the same is so high.
Now I myself loved Transformers 3 and thought Captain America was very entertaining. But when they decided to remake the 1st Spiderman film, less than 10 year after the first trilogy flopped, that is where I draw the line.
